Seeing how Full-HD has practically become the new standard in movie quality, the display industry has followed suite and increased the amount of monitors that support the resolution needed to do such films justice. In fact, most of the newer monitors launched over the past months, both high-end models and even mainstream ones, support the 1,920 x 1,080-pixel resolution. iiyama is no stranger to these events, of course, and since Full-HD is best enjoyed on bigger than average screens, the company has built two monitors in the ProLite Series, which have 22 inches in diagonal.

The E2208HDD-1 is the slightly less performance-packed of the duo, though not by much. Obviously a liquid crystal display, the monitor has a dynamic contrast ratio of 10,000:1 (ratio of 1,000:1), a brightness of 300cd/m2 and a power consumption, during typical operation, of 43W. Also, in addition to the obvious native support for 1,080p, it boasts a response time of 5ms and DVI and D-Sub for video input.

The B2209HDS-1 is only slightly superior, video-wise, but has some extra functionality that gives it an overall higher appeal at the cost of a price higher than that of its sibling. While its maximum resolution is the same, its dynamic contrast ratio is better (20,000:1) and its response time is of 2ms instead of 5ms. This model's video input capabilities are also superior, as there is also support for HDMI. The display also comes with a pair of built-in 2W speakers and a bonus in versatility, conferred upon it by its stand with pivot function.

The 22-inch E2208HDD-1 and B2209HDS-1 will cater to all multimedia needs of consumers and come with price tags of 143.61 Euro and 197.65 Euro, which aren't that high, considering the Full-HD support. End-users interested in further information may visit the company's official website.
