It looks like AMD's roadmap is all set, so there might not have been a delay after all

The other day, I found out that Advanced Micro Devices would only launch the Kaveri accelerated processing unit at some point in February 2014.

Now, I'm as open-minded as the next guy, but that sounded an awful lot like another one of those delays that are passed up as roadmap decision that had always been there.

Then again, AMD didn't actually state anything itself, so I can't be sure.

There's one thing I didn't mention: the report gave the name of the chip that will succeed Kaveri: Carizo.

The chip will supposedly make its entrance in 2015, along with the Nolan (which will replace Beema). Both will be based on HSA (Heterogeneous System Architecture).

Given all this, maybe there wasn't a delay after all. All those assumptions that Kaveri would come out this year might have just been wishful thinking.
