With deliveries on its Karma range extended-electric car already in progress, U.S. tire manufacturer Goodyear has just been announced as the exclusive supplier for the vehicle.

This means that all 2012 Fisker Karma EVer (electric vehicle, extended range) vehicles only roll on Goodyear's Eagle F1 Supercar tires in sizes 285/35/R22 (rear) and 255/35/R22 (front).

The two companies worked together to develop this high performance tires specifically for the Karma EVer, which uses large 22-inch wheels and an electric motor with a high torque output.

This way, the Karma joins other fuel efficient vehicles using Goodyear tires as part of their standard equipment, including the Toyota Prius, Scion iQ, Chevrolet Volt, Chevrolet Cruze Eco and Ford Fusion S.

The Fisker Karma EVer has a total output of 403 horsepower with a maximum torque of 981lb./ft. (1300 Nm) available from a standing start.

The eco-friendly vehicle offers owners a total driving range of 300 miles (483 km), 50 miles (80 km) in its pure electric mode and 250 miles (402 k) with the newly added range-extender.

The Fisker Karma achieves a fuel consumption of up to 100 mpg (2.4 l/100 km) with just 83g/km of CO2 on an annual basis.  In sport mode, the top speed of the Fisker Karma is 125 mph (201 km/h) and with a 0-60 mph time of 5.9 seconds.

Prices for the model start at EUR85,500 - EUR98,900 (USD95,900 - USD108,900).

Recently, Fisker has reached an agreement to o use BMW four-cylinder turbocharged engines. The 2.0-liter units will power the American automaker's future "Nina project", a family of medium-sized vehicles that are expected to be launched in 2013.

“The BMW engine was an obvious choice for us, as BMW is known for producing the best and most fuel efficient gasoline engines in the world. We are very pleased to have signed this agreement with BMW,” Henrik Fisker, CEO/Executive Design Director, Fisker Automotive, said at the time.
