Are you having trouble backing up your digital photographies, music tracks or PC files ? If you do , you may fall a victim to Toshiba's new 200 GB external hard drive propaganda. Here it goes (and I'm referring to the propaganda)!

Apparently, the storage figure it's the highest ever achieved in the class of laptop-sized hard disks. I'm guessing it can hold your entire media library and your neighbours too (probably). The device provides you the needed digital safety for your valuable personal information and home/office documents, as well as for your high-capacity entertainment content.

The Toshiba USB 2.0 portable external hard drive spins at just 4200 rpm (shhh, compare that with Samsung's 200 GB 7200 rpm portable drive)...and it's "click-free, switch-free, button-free and also worry free". Using this advanced storage device you can store up to 57,000 digital photos, 52,000 MP3 music files, 88 (and a half) DVD videos or 23 high-definitions videos. Toshiba says you can also use it in order to preserve your old love letters (maybe all 100, 000 of them, all sent and received), monthly bank statements, copies of your will (2 copies would be enough, eh?) and your scanned graduation diploma (or copies of your Bulldog's beauty contest diploma).

As with the previous storage devices, the 200 GB model is bus-powered and comes with NTI Shadow backup software for automatically preserving files

The 2.5-inch 200 GB backup drive has a slick black aluminum finish and comes in a ruggedized case. It works with both Mac OS X Panther and Windows 2000 systems and retails for 230$. However, if the 200 GB version sounds too much, you can settle with Toshiba's 100 GB, 120 GB and 160 GB USB 2.0 portable external hard drives. You can nab them online from ToshibaDirect, Buy.com or Amazon.com.
