The snake is an astounding 15 feet (4.6 meters) long

Alisha-Mae, a 2-year-old girl living in the city of Bradford in the UK, has a python for a pet, and not just any python: one measuring 15 feet (4.6 meters) from one end to the other.

Well, technically, the snake is not hers. It actually belongs to her father, 35-year-old Rob Cowan, who's been collecting snakes since his teen years.

Still, the toddler loves it very much, and according to her father, she even kisses it goodnight before going to bed, just like other kids do with their adored dogs, cats and other mainstream pets.

Rob Cowan says the python, named Austin, is not in the least aggressive. The man even lets it hang around Alisha-Mae 10-month-old brother, Cameron.

Apart from Austin, Rob Cowan, his fiancée Stacey and children Alisha-Mae and Cameron share their home with 18 such reptiles, among them a couple of anacondas.

The 35-year-old says that the snakes are part of the family and that neither he nor his partner and his kids are in the least bit afraid of them.

“Despite you being more likely to be seriously hurt by the family dog than a snake, people are really scared of them,” the man said in an interview, as cited by Mirror.

“They are the most amazing creatures and make brilliant pets,” he added.
