Apparently it's illegal

Stalking isn't one of the things to be most proud of, but it sure requires insistence and that's generally a positive trait. That was an attempt to find something good in a bad situation, but there's really no excuse if you shadow somebody by all means available. Love can be pretty extreme in itself, people have been known to do the most stupid things in its name.

Working for the government has its perks, like access to some data that isn't usually available through regular channels. Devon Townsend used her access to New Mexico Sandia National Laboratories to hack into Linkin Park lead vocal Chester Bennington's email accounts and tap his mobile provider's website to get her hands on his wife's phone number, former Playboy model Talinda Bennington.

Devon managed to obtain email messages between the singer and Warner Bros, some records, a copy of the band's recording contract, a copy of the band's recording contract, a copy of a check made out to Bennington from the record label; and several family vacation photos. She also obtained Bennington's 34-page Verizon phone bill, which included the history of his phone usage as well as the telephone numbers of his band mates, friends and family, according to The Register.

The worst she ever did, and it is this which got her behind bars, is a phone call to threaten Chester's wife. I'm guessing Townsend could have lived happily ever after shadowing the trees and walls of buildings where the band would play a gig or Bennington would shop or take a vacation if it weren't for the call.

Devon was sentenced to two years in jail on Wednesday and she has been given 60 days to surrender herself to a Phoenix Arizona-area prison. Like I said, love is impetuous and drives people to go ahead and do crazy stuff. Like you never wrote a poem and afterwards burned the edges and soaked it with your own blood! (joke!)
