Angela van Boxtel says she wanted to teach shoppers a lesson on eco-friendly behavior

If you happen to have about 2,000 plastic bags lying around your home, time to spare and some artistic talent, here is what you can do: roll up your sleeves, take a deep breath and get to work turning those plastic bags into a reindeer.

This is precisely what Australian designer Angela van Boxtel has done, and I for one have to admit that I very much like the result of her project.

According to Inhabitat, the designer did not just glue the plastic bags together hoping to create something that would resemble a reindeer.

On the contrary, the bags on the outside of Angela's plastic herbivore are crocheted into starburst and flower-like patterns, Inhabitat reports.

What's more, the reindeer has LEDs embedded in it, so it also puts on quite a light show.

Commenting on her decision to turn 2,000 plastic bags into something more pleasant to look at, the Australian designer said that she merely wanted to teach shoppers a lesson on eco-friendly behavior.
