The app for keeping passwords safe is going to be included in all apps & browsers in iOS 8

1Password is the gold standard when it comes to keeping something safe. Whether it is a note, a new password, or your credit card information – everything is well hidden in this cross-platform app. The way the app works thanks to iOS 8 is going to change. The user will only have to use their fingerprint to control every website or app password.

This new demo was published on the Agile Bits blog. It shows the true power of app extensions that will come along with iOS 8. 1Password will make it easier and secure enough for each user to enter just one master password and have the rest filled by the extension.

The iOS 8 extension feature has helped the team at Agile Bits build "the holy grail: automatic 1Password Logins right in iOS 8 apps." Of course, that is totally up to the developers of said apps.

The video demo they have posted on their website by co-founder Dave Teare looks simply awesome. Imagine you will be able to open an app, click the 1Password icon next to the login field, and that will open the Extensions panel. Tap again on the 1Password extension and gently rest your finger against the Touch ID.

It gets more interesting when third-party browsers integrate this, because you can take the same easy steps on virtually any website. As long as you have your website username and password stored into 1Password's database, you can be sure to login in just a second and keep your secure, long and unpronounceable passwords.

The Agile Bits team has published a special GitHub page complete with source code and samples to help developers. If you are an app developer, all you have to do is get two code files and include them into your project, add a button with a 1Password login image on your view, set the button's action to call the appropriate OnePasswordExtension method, and your users will love you.

The devs at Agile Bits explain how to download and run sample apps to make it easier for you to customize that experience. As usual, you have to install the latest 1Password and Xcode Betas, get the sample apps, and see how they work. There are methods to register a new user on a webpage or app using the same extension and Best Practices have a special chapter at the end of the GitHub Page.

They even provide the 1Password icons to include in your app, so you don't have to draw one from scratch.

Users are also invited to show the below video to the developers of their favorite apps so they will include that feature when iOS 8 comes out.
