An update for the popular password manager and form filler, 1Password, is now available from Agile Web Solutions. Exclusively tailored for the Mac, 1Password sports built-in, anti-phishing and keylogger protection. Using 1Password, Mac owners can easily manage hundreds of passwords with a single, master key.

“This is a beta so you should expect missing polish and bugs,” Agile says on the page reserved for 1Password Beta notes. “If testing unreleased products and reporting issues is not your idea of fun, you should wait for the final 1Password 3 release. Those who decide to help test should backup all data before upgrading. If you want to be on the cutting edge and enjoy reporting issues, come on in!” the team developing the popular password manager and form filler says. 1Password Version 3.0.0 Beta 85 brings the following changes:

- 1Password sidebar and item list now accept drop of applications to create software license item. - 1Password and 1PasswordAgent will now run in 32-bit mode on Leopard for better performance and memory usage under Mac OS X 10.5. - Now hiding concealed values even in Edit mode. - Not showing hover-copy button when the field is empty. - Improved scroll wheel support. - Various date picker improvements. - Improved Login Bookmarklet detail view. - Large number of internal code improvements and bug fixes. - Made sure the computer name is passed to iPhone during Wi-Fi syncing. - Making sure new thumbnail is downloaded when (and only when) URL is changed. - FIXED Now displaying error message when Login bookmarklet name or access code is empty. - FIXED Can now delete Login bookmarklets.

1Password 3 requires the Agile Keychain data format, according to the company. Users are required to make sure they upgrade their 1Password data to the new format before installing 1Password 3. Working seamlessly in modern web browsers like Apple’s Safari, as well as Firefox, Camino, and Flock, 1Password stores all of one's information into the built-in Keychain. There is also a mobile version of the application. The iPhone client, appropriately named 1Password Touch, securely stores a website’s names and passwords.
