14 DAY TRIAL // Agile Web Solutions has released a new version of 1Password, the company’s password manager for Mac. The solution is designed to remember all the online passwords that a user inserts on any web page or form, anytime, by using one single (master) countersign.
The desktop version of 1Password integrates directly into most browsers (Firefox, Camino, OmniWeb, DEVONagent, NetNewsWire, as well as Apple's own Safari), and sports built-in, anti-phishing and keylogger protection. Using the app, Mac owners can easily manage hundreds of passwords with one key. 1Password has been updated over a hundred times, with a total of 1184 changes since its initial debut (on May 19, 2006).
Published Aug 12, 2009, “[1Password 2.9.24] fixes an issue with license validation and once again allows version 2 to run on Snow Leopard,” Agile Web Solutions says on its web site. “This update is recommended for all users and is free for all paid license holders,” the company points out.
On a more detailed note, Agile web solutions reveals that the "1Password 2 Does Not Support Snow Leopard" prompt has been changed to no longer force quit the application. Nevertheless, users are encouraged to upgrade as 1Password 2 does not support Snow Leopard. The company was also able to make changes to the license validation algorithm in order to address problems that occurred when validating older license keys, the changelog shows.
1Password for Mac OS X starts at $39.95 – Single User license. A Family license costs $59.95. The software is licensed on a per-person basis (a single license can be used by one person on as many Macs as they can afford), in order to reduce the total cost of ownership.
