The United Kingdom’s National Crime Agency (NCA), dubbed the “British FBI,” has announced the arrest of a 19-year-old man from Windsor. Authorities believe he is involved in the development and distribution of malware.

He’s also said to have sold services to other cybercriminals to help them test their malicious creations. The man has been arrested by the NCA’s National Cyber Crime Unit (NCCU). He has been released on bail.

“The NCA will lead the national response to cyber crime, focusing activities in particular on those individuals and groups who develop, distribute and deploy the malware that attacks computers and causes harm to business networks and individual users across the UK,” said Steve Pye, senior manager of operations at the NCCU.

“The arrest of this individual shows that NCA officers will work relentlessly, 24/7, to ensure that serious and organised criminals are held accountable for their actions.”
