Only one of them has Full HD resolution, since Iiyama tried for affordability here

We'd almost expected this to be another one of those Full HD monitor announcements, but it turns out that we were only half-right in our assumption: of the two new ProLite displays from Iiyama, only the larger one has 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution.

And by larger one, we mean the ProLite XB2783HSU, whose screen diagonal is of 27 inches. An above average size for monitors.

One would think that 27 inches is small for a PC display, until they realize that TVs are the ones that tend to get larger and larger.

And even there, despite how many 50-inch or higher LCDs or OLED panels have been announced, it's not really common for most households to have a TV that size.

So 27 inches is actually more than decent for a monitor, especially when said display, Iiyama ProLite XB2783HSU, also possesses a brightness of 300 cd/m2, a contrast ratio of 3,000:1, and a response time of 4ms (GTG).

On that note, the 27-inch AMVA+ panel gets to display images and video coming through D-Sub, DVI or HDMI. Iiyama has even included two USB ports and a pair of 2W speakers. All in all, not bad for a 33,800 yen product ($343 / €252).

The other monitor, the 19.5-inch ProLite E2083HSD, has a resolution of only 1600 x 900 pixels, although, to be fair, that's still a notch above HD (1366 x 768 pixels).

The monitor also has a standard 1,000:1 contrast ratio, a response time of 5ms (standard) and a brightness of 250 cd/m2. Two built-in 2W speakers and D-Sub and DVI inputs are available here as well.

Iiyama has strapped a price of 16,800 yen on the ProLite E2083HSD, which is about the same as $170 / €125.

Finally, the company gave its monitors, or at least the 27-inch one, a stand with swivel, pivot, tilt and height adjustment.
