Paige Rohrick, a talented 16-year old girl from Vancouver, Canada, has released a new iPhone application that teaches you how to draw your own Manga / Anime characters - ChibiDraw.

Fascinated by the Japanese comic drawing style, Paige realized that the existing books and tutorials didn't give enough detail on the process of achieving proper results.

So she and her dad teamed up to release an iOS app called PaigeeDraw that can help Manga fans create their own works.

Released last year, in December, PaigeeDraw took the #1 spot on iTunes’ "New and Noteworthy" section in Education for almost 2 weeks.

“I know it is difficult when you are starting to learn how to draw, so I wanted to create a learning tool and community that was really helpful and also lots of fun,” said Paige.

“That is why I created PaigeeDraw. I wish this tool / site was around when I was beginning to draw!”, she added.

Her most recent release, ChibiDraw, will help users learn how to draw their own Manga / Anime Chibi characters.

‘Chibi’ is a Japanese word for diminutive person that has gained currency amongst fans of Manga and Anime.

Available in both free and paid versions, ChibiDraw offers step-by-step drawing examples demonstrating how to draw chibis.

Paige has provided several different styles of Chibis to practice with, including Mini Chibis, and Tall Chibis. She has also created the “Chibi N3rds” bunch.

There are 38 full chibi tutorials including both girls and boys, with more added with every update.

There’s also a full description of Tools and Art Supplies to create each image, step by step.

All images featured in the app are created by hand and scanned “to provide the absolute best hand drawing, sketching, coloring and shading tutorial available,” says Paige.
