It should already be up for order, even if shipments won't start for a while

Mobile personal computers still come out all the time, even though tablets have been cannibalizing their market share. One of the latest to make its debut is the XMG P303 from Schenker Technologies.

The product is a lot more powerful than its size and looks would imply, mostly due to the discrete graphics adapter within.

That's right, despite this being a small 13.3-inch system, it has not only a powerful Intel Core i7 quad-core CPU inside, but also a 2 GB GDDR5 NVIDIA GeForce GTX 765M graphics adapter.

Add to that a pair of mSATA SSDs, one 2.5-inch SATA-II/III Hard Drive/SSD and up to 16 GB of DDR3 RAM (2 x 8 GB DDR3-1600 dual-channel), and there isn't much that the computer can't run.

Not counting computer-aided 3D design programs maybe, but it's not like this is a workstation for game and 3D animation makers.

"We're consistently seeing higher demand for more power per inch whilst maintaining a reasonable battery life and low noise levels," said Neil Richards, managing director, Schenker Technologies UK.

"The P303 really tops the thirteen inch market, we're very excited with its release."

In addition to what we've already outlined, the Schneker XMG P303 13.3-inch Pro Gaming Laptop possesses 2 speakers and Sound Blaster Cinema, High Definition Audio, plus an internal microphone.

Furthermore, the newcomer boasts a multi-gesture touchpad (with scroll function), a 6-in-1 Cardreader (MMC/RSMMC/SD/Mini SD/SDHC/SDXC), a chiclet keyboard (86 keys) and a white backlight for said keyboard, with 3 intensity levels (high, low, off).

Finally, the system can connect to other devices through an HDMI output, an RJ-45 network connector, USB 2.0/3.0 ports (1 and 3, respectively) and a VGA output. The list of components is finished with a 2 MP webcam and a Kensington lock port.

All the hardware is tied together, physically, by the HM87 chipset and, virtually, by the Microsoft Windows 8 operating system.

Sales should have already started in the UK for £779 / $1,194 / €897, but shipments will only start on August 26, 2013.
