OWC has managed to come up with some pretty impressive storage units over time, and now, the company's back with yet another such product designed specifically for the enterprise environment, namely the Mercury Elite-AL Pro Qx, capable of providing up to 12TB of storage space.

The new storage solution offers four storage bays, that can be occupied by HDDs with up to 3TB of storage space each, for a grand total of 12TB, which should prove to be quite enough for various enterprise-grade implementations.

Since we're talking about an advanced storage solution providing some pretty impressive backup capabilities, it shouldn't come as much of a surprise that plenty of RAID modes are also supported, including here Hardware RAID 5, 0, 1, or 10, as well as a Span (NRAID).

Some special attention should also be paid to the segment of connectivity options provided by the new OWC storage unit, that comes equipped with FireWire 800 and 400, as well as USB and eSATA connectors, enabling a high level of support and speeds of up to 300 MB/s for a variety of computing systems, whether we're talking about PC or Mac machines.

The solution also comes with two keys for front panel lock, as well as plenty of connectivity cables (for all the available ports), as well as numerous backup and storage-related applications.

Last, but certainly not least, we'll have to mention that finding a suitable location for this storage solution might prove to be a bit of a problem, given that this thing measures 9.65 x 5.31 x 6.96 inches (245.11mm x 134.87mm x 176.78mm) and weighs roughly 8.6 pounds (3.9kg).

Pricing for the new OWC Mercury Elite-AL Pro Qx storage solution depends largely on the amount of storage space the device, starting at around $479.99 for the model that provides no internal storage (letting users add their own HDDs) and going as high as $1,279.99 for the aforementioned 12TB version.
