Fujitsu unveiled its next generation 2.5" MHV2120BH and MHV2120AH mobile hard disk drives, both featuring capacities of 120GB.

The MHV2120BH and MHV2120AH feature high capacity, rugged construction, high endurance and low power consumption, making them well suited for a variety of storage applications, including blade servers, network routers and POS applications.

The Fujitsu MHV2120BH is among the industry's first 120GB Serial ATA (SATA) hard disk drives, and was built by leveraging the experience in Serial hard disk drive technology.

The MHV2120AH offers the same impressive capacity and specifications with a traditional Parallel ATA (PATA) interface.

Key specs include:

- Rotational Speed: 5400RPM - Average Seek Time: 12 ms typ. (Read), 14 ms typ. (Write) - Average Latency: 5.56 ms - Read / Write Power Consumption: 1.9W typ. - Idle Power Consumption: 0.6W typ - Acoustic Noise: 2.6 bels (Typ.) - Operating Shock: 2,940 m/s2 (300 G) 2ms - Non-Operating Shock: 8,820 m/s2 (900 G) 1ms - Operating Vibration: 9.8 m/s2 (1.0 G) (5 to 500 Hz) - Non-operating Vibration: 49m/s2 (5.0 G) (5 to 500 Hz) - Operating Altitude: -300 to 3,000 m (-1,000 to 10,000 ft.) - Non-operating Altitude: -300 to 12,000m (-1,000 to 40,000 ft.)

In accordance with the European Commission's 2002/95/EC directive for eliminating hazardous materials in the manufacturing of electronic equipment, the newest Fujitsu mobile hard disk drives are RoHS compliant.

The MHV2120BH and MHV2120AH hard disk drives will be available through original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and distributors beginning 4CQ05.
