A 12-year-old boy from Port Arthur was at home when burglars broke in and he called 911. Deion Murdock's call, featured in the news report above, shows incredible bravery.

Murdock talked to a Port Arthur Police Department operator who was able to keep him calm as officers arrived at his home.

He tells her how his mother is not at home and he is alone. She advises him to hide in a closet and, not long after, he describes that the intruders are in the room that he is in.

He was able to whisper and describe their location while the dispatcher kept him on the line.

“It sounds like there are multiple people,” he says.

“You're doing good, doing real good, doing perfect. [...] Your mom's going to be so proud of you,” she tells him in a bid to comfort and make him feel safe.

According to Metro News Day, the incident took place on August 20 and the police arrested two suspects in the home invasion.
