14 DAY TRIAL // Officials have brought charges against the 12-year-old booked for killing his 8-year-old sister in Valley Springs, California.
As I wrote, Leila Fowler was fatally stabbed last month and her brother told detectives about seeing an intruder fleeing the scene at the time. A 15-day manhunt followed, with residents asked to stay inside and be weary.
The young boy has been charged with 2nd degree murder with a dangerous weapon, ABC News informs.
Fowler's brother was arrested on May 10, the Calaveras County Sheriff's Office in Northern informed.
He may be tried as an adult, in which case he faces a lifetime in jail. If he is tried in juvenile court, the boy will be out by the age of 25. A judge will decide how to treat the young defendant's case.
