Officials confirm that 12 people have died and 200 have been injured in a fertilizer factory explosion in Texas.

According to Fox News, Texas Department of Public Safety Sgt. Jason Reyes mentions recovering 12 bodies from the wrecks.

As I reported before, the plant in Waco, Texas blew up minutes after a fire had been reported at the facility. Authorities believe that the flames reached flammable substances stored in tanks on site.

First responders have been caught in the blast themselves. However, the number of firefighters, EMTs, and police officers dying in the explosion that has leveled the small town of West remains unknown.

“There's no words for it. It is a small community, and everyone knows the first responders, because anytime there's anything going on, the fire department is right there, all volunteer,” resident Christina Rodarte says.
