After a whole bunch of family lawsuits involving Samsung's current chairman, we get to write about a different sort of legal action, one that has the company as the victim and plaintiff for a change.

For those not up to speed on things, it is believed that a 46-year-old researcher at Samsung leaked trade secrets concerning the AMOLED display technology to a rival firm.

In exchange for the information, the man supposedly accepted almost $170,000 (around 130,000 Euro).

There was more than money involved though, or so they say. The man was deeply involved in the development of the technology, but was passed over for an executive position.

Chinese authorities say he tried and failed to sell the information to a Chinese display manufacturer before the transaction that got him in all this trouble.

According to Yonhap News, 11 people suspected to have participated in the theft and sale of the technology have been taken into custody. That includes both current and former Samsung employees.
