The Flex4K camcorder from Phantom is a real piece of work

In order for slow motion videos to be truly entrancing, the video must be recorded at a much higher frame rate than the one considered the “norm” during playback.

That means that good slow motion is recorded in something that is 30 fps or 60 fps multiplied several times. And the better the resolution, the harder it gets.

Phantom might have just set a new record in terms of recording speed by launching the Flex4K camera, which can shoot 1,000 fps at a resolution of 4096 x 2160 pixels.

The Flex4K can shoot in 30/60 fps of course, and even 23.98 fps.

The Super-35 CMOS sensor is responsible for this, as it has over 12 stops of dynamic range, and can push the fps to 2,000 when resolution is pulled back to 2K.

Needless to say, the price is as scary as the performance is awe-inspiring: $109,900 to $164,900 (84,389-109,900 Euro to 125,583-164,900 Euro).
