14 DAY TRIAL // Mother and boyfriend Abbey Carlson (29) and Thomas Fishinger (30) from western Pennsylvania were arrested and will face charges after they were caught transporting their 10-year-old daughter in a dog cage in the back of their pickup truck.
The arrest occurred after various motorists dialed 911 after seeing the girl in the cage on the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Millvale, just outside Pittsburgh.
The two have been released on their own recognizance, but will most likely be charged with endangering the welfare of a child.
Speaking to the press (video above), the girl’s grandmother says that this was actually the girl’s idea because she wanted to ride in the cage with her dog. Her parents could simply not find it in themselves to deny her the experience.
She also admits that the “experience” was dangerous for the child, but shrugs it off as an “innocent mistake.”
