LionKing800 seems to be a battery king

A recently spotted mobile phone manufactured in China claims to provide no less than 365 days of stand-by time. Which, yes, means one whole year. The handset can apparently do this thanks to the fact that it packs a powerful 16800 mAh battery. Compared to the batteries that most of today's mobile phones have - around 1000 mAh - this is indeed something that is worth to be mentioned. It even makes Philips' Xenium handsets (known for their ability to offer extended battery life time) look like they have serious reasons to feel low in performances.

Named LionKing800 (hello, Disney), the new handset doesn't look bad at all, as you can see in the available images (although it resembles Nokia's N95), and it even has some nice features besides the impressive battery. It offers a 3.5 inch touchscreen with 260K colors support and a 240 x 320 pixels resolution, dual-SIM technology, GSM900 and DCS1800 connectivity, GPRS, WAP, Bluetooth 2.0, IP dialing, hand writing recognition, E-book reader, English and Chinese language support, Music player, four speakers in the back to ensure a good audio quality, microSD card support, games and a VGA photo camera with video recording.

Of course, we can't say if LionKing800 can indeed offer 1 year of stand-by time, nor can we appreciate if it has a good overall quality. However, when it comes to mobile phones, China can be seen as the country of all possibilities, and in times like these I regret I don't have Chinese relatives to send me the handset or at least to test it and confirm or infirm its claimed performances.

The LionKing800 handset is priced at only $145 - check out its selling Web page, found at this address. You might even want to buy it. The phone, not the Web page.
