British consumers are apparently hooked on tablets. According to the latest research by eMarketer, a third of the UK population has a little tablet fun at least once a month.
More specifically, 31.3% of the Brits use a slate regularly. It doesn't really mean they actually own it at home, some might be sharing it with another member of the household, but it still counts.
Numbers increased compared to last year when just 22.3% of UK citizens reported being tablet adepts. eMarketer forecasts that the trend is going upwards, with 2014 probably seeing a 38.2% penetration.
The research firm claims that the wider adoption is probably due to the introduction of extremely affordable slates like the recent Tesco Hudl.
The study also discovered that the fastest growing tablet fan base could be observed in customers under 12 and over 65. The majority of the tablet-using population is aged 25 to 54, but this dogma seems to be slowly shifting.
