Motorola MILESTONE, the European version of the second handset Motorola delivered to the market with Google's Android operating system on board, the DROID, is expected to soon become available for purchase in Germany via O2. The wireless carrier already has the MILESTONE available for pre-order on its website, only that it asks for it a little more than originally expected.

Those who will access O2's website to take a look at the Motorola MILESTONE will see the €549,99 price tag listed right next to it, which is €150 higher than the €400 price tag the new Android-based mobile phone was originally expected to feature. However, it should be mentioned that this seems to be the full retail price tag for the device, which means that those opting for a contract agreement with the carrier will enjoy the device at a much lower price tag.

There are no exact details on when the mobile phone should become available for purchase in Europe, though the pre-order availability status suggests that users should expect it to hit the shelves in the near future. Motorola has already gone official with the launch of this Android phone in Europe, and has also announced that Milestone is set to become available for purchase in Canada via TELUS, and, based on the previous experience with DEXT, one might expect for the purchase availability to start soon.

The one thing that is certain at the moment is that European users will enjoy a great deal of features with the MILESTONE. Not only that the handset packs inside the Android 2.0 OS, but it also sports a 3.7-inch touchscreen display boasting a 480 x 854 pixel resolution, along with a sliding QWERTZ keyboard, HSDPA, Wi-Fi, USB 2.0 and Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity options, aGPS, an HTML browser with support for Flash, an 8GB microSD memory card included in the package, a 5-megapixel photo snapper and more.
