At the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), that takes place in Las Vegas, Nevada, Toshiba launched its new 2011 3D LED TV lineup and now the company is taking its time letting us know what new technologies these HDTVs will bring to the market.

The most important feature is, of course, the company's own CEVO Engine that includes a series of 3D technologies meant to enhance the HDTV's image quality, like 3D Resolution+ that automatically upconverts and sharpens 3D sources that are not native Full HD.

This is paired together with TriVector 2D to 3D Conversion that, as it name implies, was developed in order to add a sense of depth to 2D video content and images (including video games).

“For 2011, Toshiba is incorporating the new CEVO Engine to create stunning 2D images, immersive 3D images and more advanced and interactive connectivity,” said Scott Ramirez, Vice President of Product Marketing and Development at Toshiba.

“CEVO takes 3D to the next level and to make sure it is available to everyone, we are offering it in both Dynamic – active – 3D and Natural – passive – 3D in a variety of screen sizes,” concluded Mr. Ramirez.

In addition to the CEVO engine, the dynamic 3D UL610 series also adds a Full HD 1080p Quantum BLACK panel with local dimming and CrystalCoat, to provide improved contrast and deeper blacks, as well as 480Hz refresh rates.

The 3DTV is bundled with active shutter glasses and includes Wi-Fi connectivity, Net TV with Yahoo! Widgets and a built-in sub-woofer speaker.

In contrast, the TL515 series ships with polarized glasses and uses a 1080p Full HD CineSpeed Plus panel with local dimming and 240Hz refresh rates.

This too is available with WiFi connectivity, NetTV and Yahoo Widgets support.

In addition to these TV sets, at CES 2011, Toshiba also showcases two glasses-free 3D TV models in 56-inch and 65-inch diagonal screen sizes.
