Atari has announced the release of their tennis simulation game in Europe, for the Xbox 360 console. Smash Court Tennis 3 will hit the stands this June and it will bring to all the fans the excitement of playing a tennis match in the company of superstars like Roger Federer or Maria Sharapova. Developed by Namco Bandai and already released on the PSP consoles, Smash Court Tennis 3 has highly realistic visuals, a host of gameplay enhancements, and online play via Xbox Live online game service.

Since it is the first title released in the series on a next-gen console, you should pardon its kind of crappy graphics and hope for some much better gameplay. You will be able to test your skills against 16 of the world's best tennis players - from established stars such as world number one Roger Federer, Maria Sharapova, Rafael Nadal and Martina Hingis to rising talents including Andreas Seppi and Nicole Vaidisova, each player has his own strengths and weaknesses.

Of course, you will also be able to create your own superstar and you'll have a host of features to choose from, including rackets, shoes, hairstyles, skin tone and clothing. The game also includes different modes, like the needed Tutorial, Arcade, Pro-Tour, and Exhibition as well as an online mode that allows you to test your skills against your friends. A good thing about the online mode is the fact that it also allows double matches, which will definitely further enhance the experience and the thrills of playing.

Smash Court Tennis 3 seems to be a decent title and you should give it a try, even though the graphics, judging from the screenshot, do not manage to rise to today's standards. A great experience, however, does not necessarily mean great visuals, too, so Smash Court Tennis might be just what you're looking for.
