A game specifically targeting younger gamers

Ah, Bean... He's a man of few words, but despite that, he makes us laugh our lugs out since 1990. Mr.Bean is one of the world's most popular character brands, with a Live action and Animated Mr Bean TV series distributed around the world for 17 years now, still broadcasted today in more than 190 territories.

However, Bean will "beam" to the PlayStation2 shortly, through Blast! Entertainment. The game is said to be made up of 3D levels, with tricky traps and problems to be solved by young gamers along the way, all in an effort to find Bean's missing Teddy. On their journey, players will be aided by Bean's girlfriend, Irma Gobb. According to statistics released by Film Audience Research, 92% of children under 11 are great Mr. Bean fans and 67% of children under 11 watch the TV series on a regular basis. Thus, the game will be developed to specifically target the younger audience.

Sean Brennan, MD Blast! Entertainment is confident of a PS2 Bean game installment's success, hinting that it will fill up the bridge gap between TV and interactive entertainment: "It is very gratifying to have secured Mr.Bean in our continuing efforts to sign up high profile movie, TV and cartoon licenses to create games aimed at kids and families, with the overall mission to provide a publishing platform to bridge the gap between mainstream children's film and TV to interactive entertainment."

I sincerely hope that when they do announce the game's release, there will be a zooming option for when Bean makes those faces of his. Little detail about the game so far, but a new Mr Bean movie, "Mr Bean's Holiday," chosen as the official film for Comic Relief 2007, will be released in cinemas nationwide from 30th March 2007.
