GizmoChina reports that registrations for the upcoming Xiaomi Mi 5s have surpassed 1.8 million one day before the official announcement. It seems that almost two million people have expressed interest in purchasing the latest smartphone from Xiaomi.
The company will make the smartphone available on JD.com starting September 29, two days after its official launch.
Recently leaked images of the Xiaomi Mi 5s show that the smartphone will have a design similar to Apple's iPhones, with the circular home button in the front and neat curved edges.
The smartphone will be made available in a black color variant, which would make it resemble the iPhone 7 in Jet Black. The dual-camera setup is placed in a vertical position on the back and home buttons appear to be outlined in blue on both the Xiaomi Mi 5s and the Xiaomi Mi 5s Plus model.
Xiaomi Mi 5s could come with 6GB of RAM and 256GB of internal memory
One major selling point for the upcoming two smartphones will be the integration of Qualcomm's ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. This means that the fingerprint sensor will activate anywhere under the phone's glass panels.
The Xiaomi Mi 5s Plus variant is said to come with 6GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, which will clearly make it a very attractive smartphone on the market. The Xiaomi Mi 5s is said to run Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out of the box with MIUI 8 on top.
It could also be powered by a Snapdragon 821 SoC and come with a quad-core 2.35GHz CPU, coupled with Adreno 530 GPU. Display size could reach 5.15 inches and the smartphone could have a price tag starting at $300.
