Today’s Windows 10 cumulative update rollout includes a dedicated patch for systems running the Anniversary Update, as it continues to be the number one version of the OS at this point, as the transition to the Creators Update advances gradually.

Cumulative update KB4019472 for Windows 10 Anniversary Update (version 1607) comes with a huge changelog, including fixes for bugs that were caused by the previous updates. You can check the full changelog in the box below, but let’s see the highlights to know what to expect after installing it.

Changes included in KB4019472

Windows 10 Anniversary Update cumulative update KB4019472 addresses a problem that was experienced by users after installing KB3213986 and causing the PC Settings pages not to display correct options. Furthermore, it fixes a problem with security update KB4015550 leading to errors experienced by applications that use the msado15.dll.

Microsoft says it has also managed to address an issue causing devices to become unresponsive when users try to enable end-user-defined characters (EUDCs), plus one critical bug causing DPI errors with a number of apps, including Notepad and Paint.

Truth be told, DPI settings continue to be a big headache for Microsoft and its users, as some Win32 programs still look blurry on high DPI displays despite all the updates that were released recently. Developers need to update their apps to offer full support for high DPI screens, but these new versions come at a painfully slow pace, and this only affects the overall experience with Windows 10.

KB4019472 also includes a big collection of security updates for Windows COM, Windows SMB Server, Windows Server, Internet Explorer, and Microsoft Edge.

And last but not least, Internet Explorer is getting an integrated newsfeed in the New Tab page, even though Microsoft’s big focus is now Edge browser.

You can check out the full changelog below and we’ll keep you updated in case any bugs are experienced when trying to install KB4019472.
