Windows 10 Threshold 2 is expected to ship on Tuesday to bring a wide array of improvements to users still running RTM, and according to information coming from people close to the matter, Microsoft has already signed off this important update.

But a new report also provides more information on the version number of Threshold 2, which is kind of important given the fact that insiders might actually receive it later this week before everyone else.

WinBeta writes that Windows 10 build 10586 is the actual Windows 10 Threshold 2, so in case this is the new version that Microsoft ships to insiders in a few days, it means they get to test the upcoming update before it is delivered to users next week.

And yet, it’s important to note that this build is very unlikely to bring breaking changes to insiders, as many of the improvements that will be included in Threshold 2 have already been around for a while in preview releases.

Both PCs and mobile getting Threshold 2

Even though everyone is eagerly awaiting for the fall update on PCs, the very same update arrives on mobile devices too, so Windows Phone users getting the upgrade to Windows 10 Mobile in late November or early December will actually get directly to this version. Insiders could actually get it on November 12.

What’s more, the new Lumia models presented by the company on October 6 and projected to ship later this month, but also devices that will see daylight in the coming months, will ship with Threshold 2 as well.

Keep in mind that, despite all these reports, Microsoft is yet to say a single thing about Threshold 2, so until the company pushes the green button, take everything as a rumor. More on this should be provided in the coming days, as the debut of the upcoming update is just around the corner.
