WhatsApp has brought some improvements to its iOS app, adding a new feature for saving offline messages and sending them when Internet connection is available. Aside from this, some of the app’s sections have received a redesign.

WhatsApp’s new feature allows users to write down their messages and tap send, even if they don’t have an active Internet connection. The message is stored in the app and will be automatically sent when WiFi connection is available or users turn on their mobile data.

Needless to say, the feature is very useful when users wish to type in a reply to a certain message and don’t want to do so when Internet connection is available. The new feature allows users to type in multiple messages in the offline queue and send automatically when the connection is reestablished.

New design for storage usage section in WhatsApp for iOS

WhatsApp also welcomed a new design for the storage usage screen in the iOS app. Users will now be able to manage their device storage by simply deleting certain message types from specific chats.

This comes in handy on chats with multiple videos, as the media content can be cleared to make way for new messages. The feature can be accessed by going to Settings, Data and Storage Usage and accessing the Storage Usage section.

WhatsApp for iOS also allows users to send up to 30 photos or videos at once, thus raising the media sharing limit. Earlier this month, WhatsApp 2.17.6 beta for Android included the same feature that allowed users to share up to 30 videos and pictures with their friends.

Previously, users could only share 10 media files. The beta update for Android also brought a tool for searching GIFs on Giphy and Tenor, adding a caption and then simply tapping “Send” to share with friends. WhatsApp is also expected to roll out a feature for editing and recalling messages to regular iOS and Android users.
