webOS, the mobile operating system that Palm loaded on some of his latest devices, and the main reason for which HP bought the handset vendor, should soon be loaded on yet another interesting device from the company, a touchscreen-enabled device without a physical keyboard, which might land under the name of Stingray.

The name is not new, as it was spotted a few times before, in leaked documents pointing at future webOS devices from HP, but nothing was confirmed officially on it as of now.

Stingray emerged into the wild for the first time back in November, along with other handsets from HP/Palm, including Mantaray, Broadway, and Windsor.

Two of them were already launched on the market, namely the Mantaray and Broadway, known around the world as the Palm Pre 3 and the Veer, which leaves the other two unclaimed.

According to the guys over at PreCentral, the leaked keyboard-less smartphone that HP plans to launch soon would be the Stingray, mainly due to the fact that it resembles the Pre 3, minus the slide-out QWERTY, of course.

Apparently, the new device might sport a larger screen, and could become official in the not too far future, the news site notes.

However, since nothing was confirmed on it for the time being, we'll take the info on it with a grain of salt, while waiting for a formal announcement on its arrival to emerge.

In the meantime, we should have a look at another webOS device that should make it to the market soon, namely the Pre 3 for Verizon Wireless.

We already knew that the smartphone is headed for Big Red, and it seems that it would arrive there with both 3G CDMA and 3G HSPA radios packed inside.

There's no info available on when exactly that might happen, but, based on the fact that the currently available Pre 2 has dropped to $0 on contract at the wireless carrier, we might expect for the release to take place shortly.
