Last year, Motorola chose to announce the Moto Z and Moto Z Force first, on June 10, but the company chose a different strategy for the new models in the line. Moto Z2 Play was announced just a few days ago, while an unveil date for the Moto Z2 and Moto Z2 Force has yet to be revealed.

Moto Z2 was recently spotted on Geekbench and some of the phone’s specs were revealed. The device will run Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 835 platform, found on many flagship smartphones announced this year.

The processor is clocked at a frequency of 1.9GHz and is coupled with Adreno 540 graphics processing unit. The listing also reveals that the Moto Z2 flagship will feature 4GB of RAM. The tested Moto Z2 ran Android 7.1.1 Nougat at the time of the testing.

The Moto Z2 smartphone scored 1,879 points on Geekbench’s single-core performance test, while in the multi-core test it scored 6,503 points. The results do reveal that the smartphone will have a performance comparable to that of other premium phones that hit the market this year.

Motorola unveiled the Moto Z2 Play earlier this month and it shouldn’t be long until the other two phones in the line see the light of day. Just like the Z2 Play, the Moto Z2 will come with support for Moto Mods, the modular accessories that add more functionality to Moto Z smartphones.

Moto Z2 Play has a smaller battery than previous models and comes with a 5.5-inch display with 16:9 aspect ratio. Moto Z2 is expected to retain its display size of 5.5 inches and come with 1440 x 2560 pixel resolution, just like last year’s Moto Z. The latter had a 2,600mAh battery inside, it remains to be seen if Motorola will up the battery capacity on the new model.

Aside from Moto Z2 devices, Motorola will also announce new phones in the Moto X line, together with the Moto G5S, Moto G5S Plus and Moto E4 devices
