uclick announced a new addition to their mobile comics catalog with the launch of the famous series "The Norm" created by cartoonist Michael Jantze. The comic is available on mobile phones through uclick's
GoComics Mobile Comic Book Reader.

The story follows Norm, an advertising designer and his wife Reine, a high-powered businesswoman, through the early days of their relationship and marriage. It deals with issues like love, life, work and technology and is narrated by the main character as if talking to one of his friends. The comic, which will be updated with new mobile chapters weekly, as well as wallpapers are currently available on mobiles via GoComics.

"We are thrilled to not only run the strip daily on the Web, but now to bring The Norm to our mobile readers as well," said uclick Manager of Product Development Harold Sipe. "Jantze's strip is a very welcome addition to our mobile lineup."

"The Norm" made its debut in newspapers in 1996 as a syndicated strip from King Features Syndicate. In 2004, Jantze took the strip out of syndication and moved it on the Web and in print collections. In early 2007, Jantze reached an agreement with uclick that made "The Norm" available on GoComics.com, making its appearance on mobiles a matter of time.

"The online cell phone platforms are a new way to rediscover the strengths of the comic strip art," said creator Michael Jantze. "This new medium represents a great opportunity to reach an even wider audience."

GoComics offers a wide variety of comic books optimized for mobile phone screens. Their catalog includes Virgin Comics, the sci-fi fantasy hits GDLAND and Elephantmen, the webcomic-turned-comic-book PvP, the manga and anime horror import Guilstein, high-flying martial arts fun starring the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and many more. The Mobile Comic Book Reader is available on all major U.S. carriers, including Cingular, Verizon and Sprint.
