The entire player community built around The Division is preparing to welcome the first free content update for the multiplayer shooter, with gamers set to get access to the Incursions content on April 12, which will introduce an entirely new game mode that's designed for those players who have reached a high-enough rank.

Falcon Lost is the first of the Incursions to open up and Matthias Karlson, the lead designer at Massive, and Andrada Gregiuc, the leading designer in charge of the economics of the title, are both claiming that they have not yet completed it using the Hard Mode, which is more complex than the Challenging option for other content.

The activity will be centered around a tough series of fights, one of which will feature a bulletproof personnel carrier and will also offer hints about the way New York is recovering from the disease and the associated chaos.

Karlson also tells the official game podcast that, “You’re going to see new ingredients in terms of what happens and what you’re exposed to playing in Incursions. Incursions are our most difficult and most highly rewarding challenges in the game. With that degree of challenge we need to match that with rewards. It’s going to be the toughest thing you can do but also the source of the coolest stuff.”

Another Incursion is set to arrive in May

The name of the content coming next month has not been revealed by the Ubisoft, but the level of challenge will probably increase once again to make sure that the community has an interesting activity to engage with.

This month gamers will also get access to trading within groups and the developers are introducing a range of gameplay tweaks and new assignments that will offer rewards for those who have dealt with all story content.

The Dark Zone also becomes a more attractive option for those who want to secure some interesting equipment.

In May, Ubisoft wants to once again improve the overall game experience for The Division fans before it launches the first paid downloadable content pack for the shooter.

Underground is currently planned for June and adds a new faction to battle with while opening up new areas to explore under the city.

Ubisoft wants to offer a total of 3 major DLC drops until early 2017 and will add more to the lineup as long as The Division continues to perform as it has done on launch, breaking records for new intellectual property.
