The developers at DICE working on Star Wars Battlefront might have just delivered a solid February free update for the title, but they are still focused on delivering paid downloadable content packs for the shooter as soon as possible, offering a first look at the kind of map that the Outer Rim will deliver in March.

On the official forums, the studio claims that it is preparing to offer a full look at the kind of experiences that the DLC will introduce when it arrives, including new maps, more weapons, extra star cards and an increase in the level cap for all characters.

For the first time, DICE also confirms that Outer Rim will introduce new heroes for the player to become during combat and that a new multiplayer mode is being prepared and will be playable on both new and old maps for Star Wars Battlefront.

The first image associated with the DLC shows a big engagement that's taking part near the palace of Jabba the Hut and fans of the series will certainly be able to get clues about the coming content by carefully exploring it.

Gamers are speculating that Nien Nunb and Greedo might be the hero and villain that are being added to Star Wars Battlefront.

DICE has said that it will continue to strive for authenticity as it explores new areas of the first Star Wars trilogy with its DLC and that a total of four packs will be offered, with the final one coming in early 2017.

Fans will also be able to visit Cloud City and the Death Star

A Season Pass that covers all the content coming to Star Wars Battlefront is already offered and also gives players access to a special emote.

During the summer Star Wars Battlefront will get access to a Bespin DLC pack that will introduce Cloud City based maps and might add more flying vehicles to the battles while later in the year the Death Star itself will be introduced as a battleground.

The final DLC pack, which is coming in early 2017, remains a mystery, although Electronic Arts has made it clear that it has no plans to offer any content based on the recent The Force Awakens.

There are also plans to continue the delivery of free updates for Battlefront that will improve the overall experience by eliminating bugs while tweaking the balance.

According to the publisher, there are plans to deliver another two titles based on the same universe, which might be focused on the second trilogy and the coming movies from Disney.

Electronic Arts has signed an exclusive deal with the company, and BioWare is working on another Star Wars video game, which might use the Mass Effect mix of role-playing and cover shooter but has received no official details until now.

Another team, led by former Uncharted developer Amy Hennig, is also involved with the Star Wars video game universe and there are rumors that the project features some of the core mechanics of the canceled 1313.
