Word about two new Xperia smartphones that Sony might unveil at Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2017 emerged several weeks ago. The Xperia G3121 and G3112 haven't been confirmed by the Japanese company, but reports from China claim they will be announced in early January 2017.

Unfortunately, aside from their model numbers, no details about their specs were available, or at least not until today. It appears that both the Xperia G3121 and G3112 will be aimed at the high tier, which is why we expect them to be stuffed with powerful specs.

New information coming from China claims the Xperia G3121 and G3112 will be the most powerful smartphones to be unveiled at CES 2017. Why is that? Because both will be equipped with quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processors.

We don't know why the source of the information believes these will be the most powerful smartphones to be launched at CES 2017, as many other companies might have new flagships to show at the trade fair.

Let's hope both will run Android 7.0 Nougat

Not to mention that the Snapdragon 820 is not even the latest iteration of Qualcomm's mobile chipset, so there's a chance that at least one device powered by Snapdragon 821 CPU will be announced at CES 2017.

Apart from the fact that the Xperia phones will be packed with Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processors, the source also reveals they will sport different displays.

The Xperia G3121 will feature a 5.2-inch display, while the G3112 should come with a slightly larger 5.5-inch panel. No details about the resolution are available yet, but if we were to guess, both smartphones could feature full HD (1080p) resolution.

Since we're less than a month away from CES 2017, we can safely assume that more information about Sony's upcoming Xperia smartphones will emerge in the coming weeks, so stay tuned.
