Season 4 of BBC One’s “Sherlock” series is scheduled to air in early 2016, but fans will be reunited with Sherlock and Dr. Watson earlier than that, thanks to a Christmas special. Unlike the rest of the series, it’s set in Victorian London, which should pose different challenges for the Sherlock we’ve come to know.

A first full-length trailer for it has been released, and as always, you can see it in full and in HD below.

The first footage from the standalone episode debuted at San Diego Comic-Con 2015, but offered too little to fans to go on. This trailer isn’t exactly straightforward about the plot either, but at least we get a more concrete idea of the kind of action we’re going to see and the overall feel of the episode.

Martin Freeman’s moustache is still pretty unconvincing, but Benedict Cumberbatch looks just perfect in period clothes.

“Sherlock” stands out from other incarnations of the Sir Arthur Conan Doyle famous detective for being set in modern-times London, which means Sherlock is endowed with an entirely different set of investigative skills.

At the same time, each season includes only a handful of episodes, which are actually standalone movies. The plus is obvious, but the downside is that getting Cumberbatch and Freeman together on set for new episodes proves difficult, because of their hectic schedules.

That said, the Christmas episode promises to be a must-see! Enjoy!
