Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S3 has already received WiFi and Bluetooth certifications, which means that the device might arrive very soon. Some specs of the upcoming tablet are already known and the latest leak sheds some light on RAM capacity and processor model.

A post on social media network Weibo (via The Android Soul) claims that the Galaxy Tab S3 could feature an Exynos 7420 SoC chipset, coupled with 4GB of RAM. According to Samsung, the Exynos 7420 chipset is the first application processor built on 14nm FinFET low power process.

It offers a 64-bit octa-core CPU and supports 4k videos. The chipset offers reduced power consumption by up to 35% and improved performance by 20%. The chipset was released in the second quarter of 2015 and is coupled with a Mali-T760 graphics processing unit. The processor is found inside Galaxy S6 series and a number of other devices.

UFS 2.0 storage and USB Type-C port

The Galaxy Tab S3 would also pack UFS 2.0 storage, which is expected to deliver higher device performance compared to other storage types. Samsung says that this storage type can provide up to three times faster random read speeds and it’s found in smartphones, tablets, and even SmartTVs.

USB Type-C port is also expected on the upcoming tablet, but that isn’t surprising considering that it has become a norm on the market of mobile devices. The Galaxy Tab S3 is said to have a fingerprint sensor embedded inside the physical home button, similar to its predecessor, the Tab S2.

The Galaxy Tab S3 has the SM-T820 model number for the WiFi variant, while the LTE version carries the SM-T825 code name. It’s unclear at this point if the upcoming tablet will ship with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow or 7.0 Nougat out of the box. Samsung won’t be revealing the Galaxy S8 during MWC next month, but perhaps the company might just announce the Galaxy Tab S3.
