Samsung announced the Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2016 edition) back in May in Germany, and the company has made the tablet available in multiple other countries since then. In a press release, Samsung has just announced that the Galaxy Tab A 10.1 will be made available in the US as well, starting October 28.

However, the tablet will have a neat new component in the US market, namely an S Pen. The same variant of the tablet was made available in South Korea last month.

It may seem that Samsung is trying to keep the S Pen alive after the Galaxy Note 7 has been discontinued. The stylus will surely bring some additional functionality to the tablet and make it more attractive to consumers, as it will allow users to draw, write and edit pictures, or even create GIF images.

The Galaxy Tab A 10.1 comes with 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory

Aside from the S Pen, the Galaxy Tab A 10.1 2016 edition has about the same specs as the variant that was announced earlier this year. It comes with a 10.1-inch TFT LCD display with a 1920 x 1200 pixel resolution and an Exynos 7870 processor.

Samsung mentioned that the screen comes with an anti-glare feature and a blue light filter to reduce eye strain. The tablet also has 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage with a microSD slot for adding up to 256GB of internal memory.

It draws power from a 7,300mAh battery and comes with an 8MP camera on the back and 2MP camera sensor in the front. Connectivity options include WiFi and Bluetooth, and the tablet will be running Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

The Galaxy Tab A 10.1 with S Pen will be available only in a WiFi variant in the US, starting October 28. Select retailers and Samsung’s online store will be selling the tablet with an attached price tag of about $349.99.
