14 DAY TRIAL // One of the features that Samsung plans to include in Galaxy S7, water resistance, has been briefly part of the Galaxy S line.
Some of you might remember that Samsung Galaxy S5 received the IP67 rating for dust and water resistance (up to 1 meter and 30 minutes).
Samsung skipped this feature in Galaxy S6, but it looks like it will make a comeback in the upcoming flagship smartphone.
We have already reported a few times in the past that Samsung Galaxy S7 and its larger sibling, the Galaxy S7 edge, will include the water resistance feature.
The information hasn't been confirmed by the South Korean company yet, but a list of components that will be part of both smartphones has just appeared in India.
The country where many handset makers are testing their products, India, will get both Galaxy S7 smartphones sometime in March.
The list of waterproof components recently appeared at Zauba, home to India's import and export data, so we can safely assume they will be part of the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge smartphones.
An IP67 certification for both devices is likely to be announced
We believe that both smartphones will be released with IP67 certification, but that doesn't mean that you can wash or take a bath with them.
There's no doubt that Samsung will brag about Galaxy S7's water resistance feature next week at the launch event, but we've learned to read between the lines.
Are we going to see a waterproof Galaxy Note 6 later this year as well? Probably not if that means higher manufacturing costs.
But if water resistance gets praised by customers, Samsung won't miss the opportunity to cash in on this feature by adding it in future high-end smartphones.
Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge will be officially unveiled on February 21. According to the latest rumors, the company's flagship will be rolled out globally beginning March 11. However, some countries might get it a few weeks later.
