Another version of the Galaxy A9 launched in China last year

Some of you might remember that Samsung launched a Galaxy A9 phablet in China back in December. Since then, the smartphone hasn't been released in any other country, but Samsung might take care of that in the coming weeks.

An unannounced Samsung Galaxy A9 Pro with model number SM-A9100 has been recently spotted at Zauba, SamMobile reports.

Although this is not the first time we hear about the Galaxy A9 Pro, it's the first time that the smartphone is mentioned in official documents.

Unfortunately, aside from the fact that it packs a huge 6-inch display, no other information is provided in these documents.

The good news is the Galaxy A9 Pro might be revealed very soon, possibly at MWC 2016 trade fair, since it's not being tested in India.

According to the listing at Zauba, the smartphone is valued at $360, but we can safely assume that the market price of the Galaxy A9 Pro will be much higher than that.

Since we don't have any details on the phone's specs, we can only speculate as to what the Galaxy A9 Pro might bring to the market.

Quad HD display and Android 6.0 Marshmallow?

First of all, there's a high chance that this will be an improved version of the Galaxy A9, hence the “Pro” name. If that's the case, then the 6-inch display might support Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution, unlike the standard model coming with a full HD (1080p) display.

Also, unlike the Galaxy A9, which is only available for purchase in China, the Pro version might actually be rolled out globally.

We're further expecting the smartphone to ship with Android 6.0 Marshmallow, which will be an upgrade over the Galaxy A9's Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.

These are common sense improvements for a “Pro” version of Galaxy A9, but let's wait for Samsung to announce the smartphone and see how accurate these speculations have been.
