Samsung is about to unleash its next-generation Galaxy A series and the first smartphone that's likely to be unveiled is the Galaxy A3 (2017). Additional models like the Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A7 could be announced as well, though Samsung might choose to launch them later on.

If you've been following the news about the Galaxy A (2017) series, then you're probably aware that the Galaxy A3 has gone through multiple certifications and testing procedures, which put it a few steps closer to launch.

Considering the previous Galaxy A3 model was launched in December, we might be one month away from the reveal of the 2017 version. That's enough time for the Galaxy A3 (2017) to make the rounds at Geekbench and provide us with more info on what's to come.

For those unaware, the Galaxy A3 (2017) was spotted at GFXBench back in September, so we've already learned many details about the phone's specs. Still, it's great that we can confirm some of the previously rumored specs thanks to another appearance at Geekbench.

First of all, the Samsung Galaxy A3 (2017) is expected to pack a more than decent 1.6GHz octa-core Exynos 7870 processor, coupled with a Mali-T830 graphics processing unit and 2GB of RAM.

According to these benchmarks, the smartphone should offer 8GB of internal memory expandable via microSD card. The Galaxy A3 (2017) will sport a 4.7-inch display that supports HD (720p) resolution.

Samsung Galaxy A3 (2017) users will be able to capture great photos thanks to the 12-megapixel rear-facing camera that the smartphone should include. Also, selfie lovers will be able to take advantage of the secondary 8-megapixel camera positioned in the front.

We have yet to learn details about the phone's battery, but we do know that the Galaxy A3 (2017) will ship with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow operating system right out of the box.
