Back in June this year, Motorola unveiled the new Moto Z and Moto Z Force, two smartphones with very powerful specs and an attractive design. But the modular accessories, MotoMods, were definitely among the most exciting goodies brought by the two handsets, and Motorola is preparing to unveil new ones.

During Tech World, Motorola launched a number of three MotoMods that added functionality to the two smartphones and enhanced their features. The Insta-Share Projector is a module that attaches to the smartphones and has an incorporated projector. There were also an enhanced battery and a “party speaker” for playing music.

According to recent rumors, Motorola is preparing to launch at least one new module. The camera module will offer more features when it comes to taking pictures on the Moto Z or Moto Z Force. The upcoming portable camera module will be built by Hasselblad and provide up to 10x Optical Zoom, a Xenon flash followed by a physical shutter, and zoom lens, according to Techdroider.

The camera module will allow users to snap pictures in Raw format

In addition, the power button will help users turn the camera on and off, and images will be shot using the physical shutter button, which can be rotated so that users could adjust the camera lens. The camera module will come with the option to shoot images in Raw format, and the lens is retracted when the camera is turned off.

During the Tech World event in June, Motorola also showcased new Style Shells that carried quite a steep price of $80. It remains to be seen when Motorola will release the new camera module and if it will be available to Verizon customers first and then to the rest of the market.

The MotoMods released earlier this year carried price between $79.99 and even $299 for the projector module. At this point, there's no indication regarding the price of the upcoming camera module.
