Great news for OnePlus fans, as the Chinese company seems to work feverishly on patching all the security holes in its smartphones' software, but they are also bringing new features into the mix that were left out from the original OS.

We reported a few days ago about OnePlus One, which received a new OxygenOS 2.1.4 update that added a few new features, but mostly removed all the bloatware that users have been complaining about.

Today's update is about OnePlus X, one of the latest smartphones launched by the Chinese company. According to OnePlus, OxygenOS 2.2.0 is now rolling out to OnePlus X smartphones in stages.

For those unaware, OxygenOS 2.2.0 was already pushed to OnePlus Two smartphones last month, so it makes perfect sense for the update to arrive on the OnePlus X as well.

OnePlus has already confirmed what changes OnePlus X users will get in the OxygenOS 2.2.0 update, so here are the main features highlighted by the Chinese company.

New manual mode, general bug fixes and improvements

First of all, OxygenOS 2.2.0 update brings the long expected manual mode for Camera App, as well as the option to save to SD card in Camera App.

For the Indian version of the smartphone, OnePlus fixed a USSD bug. Also, OnePlus added dual-SIM preferences back in system settings.

Lots of general bug fixes and optimizations have been implemented into the update as well, along with security patches and an OTA App upgrade.

According to OnePlus, OxygenOS 2.2.0 is pushed in waves, which means not all OnePlus X devices will get the update at the same time.

Naturally, this won't be the last update OnePlus will bring to its smartphones, but until the next one OnePlus X owners will have to be content with what they get in OxygenOS 2.2.0.
