OnePlus has just officially revealed that the OnePlus 5 unveil will take place on June 20 and that the event will be livestreamed. The company already released a dedicated web page for the event with the “Focus on what Matters” tagline.

OnePlus 5 unveil event will be held on June 20 at 7pm EEST time and the company even offers fans the opportunity to sign up for a newsletter and get exclusive news on the OnePlus 5. After the announcement, OnePlus will host pop-up events in select cities globally.

OnePlus CEO Carl Pei will attend such an event in New York City on June 20, while pop-ups will be scheduled outside the US on June 21. The same happened when the company released some of its previous flagships in the past years.

The upcoming flagship smartphone is said to feature a rear camera with enhanced focus capabilities and even optical zoom.

DxO Mark partnered with OnePlus for the new smartphone, meaning that the device aims to take on the lead position in the DxO chart, currently held by HTC U11. To tease the upcoming phone’s camera capabilities, OnePlus even revealed photo samples.

6GB of RAM and a 3,600mAh battery inside

Rumors about the upcoming OnePlus 5 smartphone point towards a device running Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 835 platform and a design that’s smaller and thinner than last year’s OnePlus 3T. The smartphone could also come with a 3,600mAh battery and 64GB or 128GB of internal memory. The phone might support Dash charging and run OxygenOS on board.

RAM capacity is said to reach 6GB, while the phone could also come with a 5.5-inch Full HD display and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Many smartphone makers decided to remove the headphone jack from their premium devices, but it seems that OnePlus won’t make such a move. OnePlus 5 is expected to come with a price tag of about $500, but that will be announced during the official unveil event on June 20.
