Will retail at $229 MSRP, available in Matte Black & Silver

HMD Global today announced that the Nokia 6 Android smartphone is coming to the U.S. early next month and will be available for purchase from Amazon.

Released in January 2017, Nokia 6 is a remarkable 5.5-inch device powered by Google's Android 7.1.1 (Nougat) mobile operating system and featuring a premium, unibody design crafted from a single block of 6000-series aluminium. It comes with an immersive audio experience, hybrid in-cell display with full HD resolution, excellent sunlight readability, premium quality entertainment, as well as a powerful camera for sharp photos. Now, six months later, the device will make its highly anticipated U.S. debut.

Powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 chipset, Octa-core 1.4 GHz Cortex-A53 CPU, Adreno 505 GPU and using 3 GB LPPDDR 3 RAM, Nokia 6 has a gorgeous 5.5-inch IPS LCD full HD (1920 x 1080, 16:9, 403 ppi pixel density) display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3, a 16MP, f/2.0, 1.0 µm and 1080p@30fps video recording rear camera with phase detection autofocus and dual-LED (dual tone) flash, a 8 MP, f/2.0, 1.12 µm, and 1080p front-facing camera, and a dual speakers audio system with Smart Amplifier (TFA9891) and Dolby Atmos.

Connectivity wise, Nokia 6 features Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, built-in GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS+BDS support, NFC, FM radio, microUSB 2.0, and USB On-The-Go (OTG). Fingerprint, accelerometer, e-compass, proximity, and gyroscope sensors are available on the device as well, which supports the GSM (850/900/1800/1900), WCDMA (Band 1, 2, 4, 5, 8) and LTE (Band 2, 3, 4, 7, 12/17, 28, 38) mobile networks. 32 GB internal memory is available in the Matte Black and Silver variants that will be available on Amazon beginning July 2017.

Nokia 6 ill retail at $229 USD and it appears to be compatible with AT&T and T-Mobile networks, though the former will only have partial 4G LTE connection as bands 29 and 30 are not supported. The smartphone will also be available in Copper and Tempered Blue variants later this summer. There's also a Dual SIM variant available, but we don't know if it will be available in the U.S. Nokia 6 supports up to 256 GB microSD cards via the SIM 2 slot. The device is powered by a non-removable Li-Ion 3000 mAh battery that promises up to 18 h (3G) talk time.
