As we told you a few hours ago, Microsoft is releasing a new Windows 10 Mobile Redstone build for insiders, and once again, it’s only shipping it to new Lumia devices, namely 950, 950 XL, 550, and 650 (which launched only a few days ago).

Specifically, Windows 10 Mobile Redstone build 14267.1004 comes with several important fixes, one of which is supposed to address a critical bug that caused Lumia 550 not to charge.

“We fixed the issue reported by Insiders in Build 14267 where the Lumia 550 no longer charges or connects via USB. If you hit this issue on your Lumia 550,” Gabe Aul, head of the Windows Insider program, has announced.

Additionally, Aul has revealed that this is the first build to bring Visual Voicemail for dual-SIM devices, including the Lumia 950 XL.

“Work for this feature was in Friday’s release but due to the above mentioned bug impacting notifications it was not working correctly. But now the experience should be working as expected.”

There are several other important bug fixes in this build, including some patches for the People app. Microsoft rolled out a new history tab that allows you to view more information on a specific contact, such as past calls and messages. Aul explains that Skype messages that you sent via the Messaging app won’t show up on this new tab, but a feature in this regard will be released in the next few updates.

Known bugs

As far as bugs are concerned, Microsoft warns that, on the Lumia 950 XL, the trackpad will no longer work in Continuum mode, while for some users, connecting to wireless displays will be impossible. Most of the bugs are already under investigation, Aul explains, and patches should be released soon.

At this point, there are no specifics on when the Redstone builds could be released for Windows Phone devices, but Aul says that, for the moment, testing these releases on Lumia phones that shipped with Windows 10 is a priority.

“We plan to expand to other devices once we start releasing Windows 10 Mobile to other devices. If you are a Windows Insider on a device not mentioned above, you can stay in the Fast ring and sit tight until we expand to other devices or go back to Build 10586 and switch to the Release Preview Ring to continue helping us test Cumulative Updates.”
