If none of the new Windows 10 smartphones announced by Microsoft suits your needs, perhaps the upcoming Lumia 650 will be more to your liking.

The smartphone is codenamed “Saimaa” and leaked for the first time several months ago along with other devices like Lumia 550, Lumia 750 and Lumia 850.

However, except for the Lumia 550 none of the other smartphones was confirmed by Microsoft.

Moreover, soon after these devices were revealed, sources familiar with Microsoft plans stated that all these smartphones were canned, aside from the Lumia 550 that should hit shelves in December.

Along with the information regarding the cancelation of the three Lumia smartphones mentioned earlier, the same sources confirmed Microsoft has another device in the works which won't be available this year.

The device in question is supposed to be another 6xx successor, but information about its specs was scarce at that time.

The device shown in the picture belongs to the mid-range category

Fast forward several months and we now have the first leaked render of what appears to be the Lumia 650 courtesy to WinBeta.

Since there's no name imprinted on the phone, the only way to guess that this is indeed the Lumia 650 is by checking out the time stamped on the phone's screen.

The render doesn't come with any information on the phone's specs, and since none of the previous rumors mentioning the “Saimaa” or Lumia 650 stated anything about the hardware configuration of the handset, the only thing we can do is wait for more details to emerge online.

We do know that the smartphone will be powered by Windows 10 Mobile operating system right out of the box and that it will be launched sometime in 2016, but other than that there are no additional details to share for the moment.
